The 4th season of AMC's heat series, “Mad Men”, has finally started and it's fabulous as the previous seasons. And not just because of the strong characters or precise screenplay. It's no secret that the wardrobe and acc

essories has a big part in this show, and it's all thanks to the talented Janie Bryant, the costume designer.

For adding some vintage charm to your daily outfit, Bryant recommends on pearls, and the more the merrier. “I love the pearls from the period”, she says in an interview for Elle Magazine, “but to make it contemporary, pile them on. I love mixing the period jewelry with a contemporary look, like a modern dress with a fantastic period cocktail ring or several charm bracelets”.

Now that the Draper family and they're friends are going into the post JFK assassination and the mid 60's, the fashion part is even more fun. A side from the timeless pearls there's a lot of Jackie O, Chanel and Grace Kelly's inspirations such as big dramatic brooches, huge cocktail rings, long gold chains and lots of multi stranded bead necklaces.

By the way, Janie Bryant released a new clothing and jewelry line for QVC called “Mod by Janie Bryant”, and it's all inspired by Mad Men's atmosphere.

The Centenary Diamond
This unique diamond, that weighs 273.85 carats, is considered to be the third-largest diamond to have been produced in the Premier Mine (an underground diamond mine owned by Petra Diamonds). It also rated by GI

A (the Gemological Institute of America) as grade D color, the highest grade of colorless diamond.
History: The Centenary Diamond was first presented at De Beers 100 year's celebration on 1988. It was 599 carats but had to be cut 50 carats down.

The Taylor-Burton Diamond
This famous Diamond that actor Richard Burton bought as a gift for his wifw, Elizabeth Taylor, stars on every 'famous diamonds' list, and for a good reason. It is a 69.42 carats pear shape diamond.
History: The Taylor-Burton was first found in the premier Mine in South Africa and weighted 240.80 carats. Burton bought it for $1,100,000 in 1969 and after the couple's divorce, Taylor auctioned the Diamond for $5,000,000 and it was purchased by a New york based jeweler.

The Hope Diamond
This blue diamond, weighting 45.52 has an infamous reputation, not to say even deadly.
History: The stone was first sold to king Louis XIV in 1669, that had it cut down to 67 carats and renamed it “French Blue”. In the mid 1700 it was Marie Antoinette's favorite diamond pendant and in 1792 it disappeared, only to suddenly merge 20 years later. In 1910 it was Pierre Cartier that purchased the Diamond and sold it to an American socialite called Evalyn Walsh McLean. After her death in 1949 the gem sold to Harry Winston, who later donated it to the Smithsonian.

Golden Eye
The Golden Eye diamond is a 43.5 carat Canary yellow diamond, claimed to be the world's l

argest and perfect cut. Along with Its size it considered to be a very rare gem.
History: This big yellow wonder somehow got related with some drug dealing and money laundering in Ohio and it now belongs to government and being auctioned around $20 million.

Spirit of de Grisogono
The Spirit of de Grisogono is the world's largest cut black diamond as well as the world's fifth largest diamond of any kind. It weighs 312.24 carats and was 587 before it was cut and set in a ring.
History: This breath taking black diamond was born in Africa and was taken by swiss jeweler, De Grisogono, who cut it and set it in a white gold ring with 702 other small white

diamonds.

Eugenie blue
This blue heart shaped diamond is one of the most famous diamonds in the world and it's now presented at the Smithsonian museum. It weighs 30.82 metric carats and is of a rare deep blue color.
History: This rare gem was bought In 1910 by Cartier and later on was purchased by Van Cleef and Arpels. In 1959 it was Harry Winston that acquired the diamond. He sold it five years later to a European family and the Blue diamond was finally donated to the Smithsonian Institution in Washington D.C.
