People often wonder why celebrities love diamonds. The only way to find out is to ask them however, it’s most likely a safe guess to assume the reason celebrities like diamonds is the
same reason any person likes diamonds. People like diamonds because they’re shiny. They sparkle. Diamonds are often viewed as a status symbol as well as a symbol of financial wealth. The larger the diamond, the more money you are supposed to have.
It’s only natural for people to take notice the moment a celebrity becomes engaged. Many curious fans want to see the ring before they even ask who the lucky couple is. When large name celebrities such as the Duchess of Cambridge, Kiera Knightely or Beyonce, with her whopping 18-carat diamond engagement ring, become engaged everyone wants to see the diamond.
The left hand often becomes the focus of attention and speculation, which leaves us wondering yet again, why people love diamonds so much. Some people feel that the sparkle of a diamond is a symbol of life the way darkness is often a symbol of death.
Diamonds are also regarded as high value, high priority, items that at one time, were reserved only for the truly wealthy. Diamonds were also used to adorn the very famous such as Kings and Queens of ancient times. Although this has changed in that most people wear diamonds today, the concept of high society or high placement has not.
Diamonds are also adored for their symbol of eternal love. They are long lasting and durable, a much better gift of affection than other stones, and diamonds also come in a large variety of shapes, colours and sizes, making them easily personable. They are virtually indestructible and have often be linked to symbolize many things about life.
Most of all, celebrities most likely love diamonds because diamonds are, have always been and most likely will always be associated with glamour, fame and wealth. There is hardly a better feeling than to have people wanting to see your diamond engagement ring or to have a photograph taken as you wear one of the most beautiful diamonds in the world that is worth millions of dollars.
This is true of a recently engaged Jennifer Aniston who’s beau presented her with a beautiful 8-carat diamond engagement ring. According to Life and Style Magazine, “It’s a huge emerald-cut diamond. It’s a rectangle with tapered diamond baguettes on the sides.”
Another recent beaming bride to be is Avril Lavigne who recently said yes when presented with a large 14-carat engagement ring. Chad Kroeger, Nickelback’s frontman, apparently spent $350,000 on the lavish pear shaped ring. According to US Weekly, “The half-moon diamonds are also rare since they would have to be specially cut to fit on either side of the center diamond. The center diamond is approximately 10 carats, with and additional 4 carats of total side diamonds.”
